What is Thrive Across America?
Thrive Across America is an online physical activity program where you travel through all eight Kaiser Permanente regions and Program Offices by recording exercise minutes and moving across a virtual trail. Along the way you’ll learn about the people and places that help us thrive as well as great sites to visit in each region. Watch how-to video.
Who can participate?
All Kaiser Permanente employees, physicians, and dentists as well as employees of the Coalition of KP Unions and partner unions can participate. Whether you’re an experienced exerciser or just starting out, Thrive Across America gives you simple, motivating tools to track your progress and see results.
How does it work?
Each time you record exercise minutes, you move along a virtual trail that winds through the regions. Your goal is to achieve 150 minutes or more of exercise a week — aiming for at least 30 minutes, five days a week.
When does the program start?
The program will start the day your register and you may record your progress through the end of the year.
What’s new since last year?
You’ll find new attractions along the trail, a t-shirt incentive, a KP trivia contest, as well as integration with KP Walk!, so your walking minutes count in both programs. And there’s a new bonus trail in Hawaii you can use to track progress after completing the main Thrive Across America trail.
Is there an incentive?
Yes. Each participant who records exercise minutes at least once a week during the campaign’s initial eight weeks (September 19–November 13) and then completes the evaluation by midnight November 30 will receive the official Thrive Across America t-shirt.
